ASKNet Networking Event: Welcome to Vilanculos in December 2008

ASKNet is planning a Networking Event for its members (and interested non-members) as a great starting point of the sanitation efforts to follow the 2008 International Year of Sanitation.

Download the latest logistical information for the conference! See below!

This networking conference will take place in in Vilanculos, Mozambique on December 9-13, 2008. The networking conference is an excellent possibility for the ASKNet members to:

  • meet and exchange experiences on sanitation and related topics through the conference program which will make use of several different formats to ensure maximum experience exchange;
  • to improve on their skills through attending the workshops organized around the networking conference; and
  • to exert their voting rights when the elected board of ASKNet will take over from the temporary board.
  • Submission of posters
    Applications are invited for presentation of posters at the forthcoming ASKNet Networking conference. Two types of posters are being considered. The first is for posters to be presented as part of a moderated workshop with the theme of reuse experiences. Some posters have been invited for this session, but a few slots for posters designed to stimulate novel thinking on waste reuse are available. The second group is aimed at evening poster session(s). These sessions will be moderated but will not form part of a themed workshop. Nonetheless that should be strongly focussed on:

    (a) solutions-based thinking around sanitation issues in Africa and/or

    (b) problem-based learning (PBL) approached for producing capacitated project managers in sanitation project design, implementation and monitoring/management.

    For information on poster submissions, please contact Dr Nicola Rodda (roddan@ukzn.ac.za) or David Hawksworth (200275860@ukzn.ac.za)
